NetWorkOut Shows Us How Self-Care and Networking Can Align

When we think of running our own businesses, we often think of burn out, quick meals on the go, running around a bit crazed attempting to wear ALL the hats, ticking off a never ending to-do list, and sadly, never (and I mean NEVER) having enough time for self care.  


I don’t know about you, but I fully believe we are beyond this self imposed hustle culture. In 2024 I believe we have enough evidence and knowledge to know that entrepreneurs and small business owners absolutely cannot build and sustain a thriving business if we don’t take care of ourselves first. That’s why the BRA Network, a community built for female and non-binary entrepreneurs and small business owners, believes in creating blended opportunities. We create in person and virtual events for our members to network, learn and grow their businesses, while also doing something wonderful for themselves. It’s truly a winning combo that leaves attendees feeling so damn good..


Our annual NetWorkOut event is the perfect example of this. Where else have you found the opportunity for entrepreneurs to work up a sweat, do something amazing for their hearts and souls, AND network with other business owners. It’s a marriage of two vital things in one event that you absolutely do not want to miss.


We also love an event that allows you to participate from anywhere in the world, as long as the WiFi is decent! Our 2024 NetWorkOut event will be held virtually on Valentine’s Day in honor of February being American Heart Month.  We take heart health seriously here at the BRA Network, and there is nothing more important to us than knowing our BRA Network members’ hearts, minds, bodies and souls are healthy and being well taken care of. 


Here are some heart healthy facts we want to remind you of in honor of American Heart Month and our annual NetWorkOut event:

  1. It’s not fun to read this, but heart disease is the leading cause of death in women of all ages in the United States.
  2. Risk factors such as family history, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating, smoking, and not managing stress or getting enough sleep can put you at risk for heart disease, even at a young age. 
  3. It is never too early to start paying attention to your blood pressure and risk for heart disease.
  4. More movement, less stress, more nutrient dense foods, more community and more LAUGHTER are all ways to lower your risk for heart disease. 


The good news — You have the power to protect your heart and lower your risk. Yes, YOU! You can start today. We love this resource here from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for learning more about your risk and what you can do to be proactive and preventative. 


How about starting with a fun movement session at NetWorkOut! On Wednesday, February 14th, at 10am PST, join founding BRA Member Stacey Beaman for a 25 minute cardio dance and strength workout. Post workout (and post chug of water) you’ll sit down and virtually network with our other BRA members attending NetWorkOut. Word of caution, you might have rosy cheeks while networking, but that’s half the fun! Networking while full of yummy feel-good endorphins is the best kind of natural high.


Your NetWorkOut instructor, Stacey Beaman, is the co-founder and COO of PlyoJam, a dance fitness brand that became a global sensation when she was featured as the first full figured trainer on PopSugar fitness. PlyoJam also gained global recognition when a Los Angeles based PlyoJam class was featured on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke. Stacey creates workout routines that are accessible for all levels of dance and fitness, so have NO FEAR!  She will take good care of her fellow BRA members.
